DHF Halloween Party

Members of Downeast Humanists & Freethinkers invite Central Maine Skeptics to our Potluck Halloween Party on Mount Desert Island. Costumes encouraged!

"To get to our house is easy, other than that you are in total darkness most of the way. But it is largely straight. I'm going to list landmarks by mileage, so watch your odometers.

The first step is to get to MDI by crossing the Trenton Bridge. At the end of the bridge, there will be a split in the road at a gas station called Steamboat Springs. Here you go straight, towards SW and NE Harbors. From this point, you will stay on Rt. 102 for 4.3 miles. There will then be a stoplight, where you could turn to go to Bar Harbor. Do not do this! Go straight through the light, and drive through Somesville for 0.9 miles, where you will see a blinking light. Bear right here, onto Pretty Marsh Rd. Then follow Pretty Marsh Rd. for 5.7 miles to Miles Rd., a small road on your left. (If you have forgotten your odometer reading, there is a street lamp at Cape/Hodgdon Rds., and Miles Rd is 0.5 miles beyond that lamp.) Miles Rd. is across from some large buildings, the Seal Cove Storage Units. I will have something shiny on the street sign to indicate that you are there.

If you are using GPS, it probably will have our house's position wrong. We are the first house that you come to at the top of the hill of Miles Rd., at the intersection of Miles and Pond Rds.
