I ran across this music video yesterday, and I think it’s absolutely brilliant and wonderfully entertaining.  It was an Italian pop-hit in the early 70’s.  From what I can gather, it seems the star, Adriano Celentano, is to Italy what Elvis Presley is to the U.S.
First - A bit of history on the piece from Wikipedia
“The song was produced with the purpose of exposing Italian pop artists and musicians who were deceiving the public, pretending to speak/understand English lyrics and plagiarizing American and English songs, so this was a satirical parody to underscore the fact that those artists and musicians were not fluent in any form of English at all, and the Italian public would accept and popularize any song sounding like English, whether or not it was accurate.”
The song did, in fact, hit the top of the charts.  What I find even more interesting is how well the video parodies so many elements of American culture and humans in general.  Do I see a cult leader dressed in rags with euphoric worshipers moving in lock-step, raising their hands in praise, parroting everything he says, and mirroring not only him, but each other?  Or am I just projecting?

Anecdotally, Adriano Celentano played the part of Satan in Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ and is now 75 years old.
