Sketch at the Valley Station at Palm Springs Tram
Details
Sketch at the Valley Station at Palm Springs Tram. This is the lower station from which the tram starts its trip up to the Mountain Station. The Valley station is at an altitude of 2643 ft and is nestled in the cliffs of Chino Canyon. The Valley Station reflects the midcentury modern style that Palm Springs is famous for. The building was designed by Albert Frey and is characterized by sleek lines, large glass windows, and use of natural materials. The Valley Station has views of the tram cars and the surrounding cliffs. There is a gift shop, a snack bar, restrooms, and indoor and outdoor seating. There is lots to draw, buildings, the mountain landscape, and people waiting for their tram ride.
Parking is free for those holding a local drivers' license. Check here for the list of towns that are included in the free parking. There is no charge to enter the Valley Station. Meet at the door at the top of the steps that lead to the Valley Station at 10 am.
