Data Rescue Houston brings together programmers, librarians, scientists, students, archivists, technologists, and other volunteers to identify, download, and help preserve publicly accessible federal data resources in the public interest, ensuring their long-term accessibility.
Mark your calendars! Data Rescue Houston will take Saturday, March 4 from 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.. The event will be held at Rice University.
We welcome participants with a range of backgrounds. Likely tasks include:
-Exploring websites to identify data sets
-Developing and implementing scripts and tools to scrape data
-Verifying data integrity
-Uploading data
-Documenting our work
-Coordinating groups
