Sketch & Learn Together #1: Urban Sketching

• What will we do?

Two 30 minutes talks about Urban Sketching will be holden by 2 famous Berlin-based artists. You will have an opportunity to hear the first-handed stories from the active members of Urban Sketcher's community. They will tell you about their approaches and techniques. And you are encourage to sketch meanwhile!
Above is a short introduction of the speakers:

• Omar Jaramillo was born Ecuador. He accomplished his architectures studies in Ecuador and Germany.

His work as a landscape architect brought him to long periods in Italy, the Emirates and Oman. During his travels he keep track of the journey through drawings and watercolors. In 2009 he became a correspondent member of Urban Sketchers.

His work has been exhibited in Ecuador, Italy, USA, UAE, Canada and Germany. His drawings has been published by books, newspapers and magazines around the world. Omar currently lives and works in Berlin. He is a founder and manager of the Urban Sketcher Germany chapter. Omar teaches illustration and Urbansketching classes in Berlin.

• Gris paints and draws since his early childhood. He was fascinated by the watecolour painting technique by his neighboor, who was an art teacher. During the time when the other kids went to school, did sport or finish their studies, Gris kept up painting.

At the end of 80th he started to do graffiti. After he finished his art education, he worked free on paper, canvas and huge 180 meter house wall in Berlin Schöneberg. Gris keeps an art diary, capturen the moments of the every day life there. You can meet him, while he's sketching in U-Bahn.

Gris is an experienced teacher. His workshops in Berlin are based on combining traditional content and a humourous original approach.

• What you should bring with you?

Please bring your own sketch materials, and some examples of your works to share. You encouraged to sketch duting the talks, of course!

Since it's the pilot Meetup it will be donations based.
Please support speakers, so we could do this kind of events further.

Please bring your ID to confirm your name on the entrance.
And come on time! We supposed to leave the venue at 20:00.
We can go to the bar afterwards to sketch and talk more. Location to be announced!
