Hey folks!
Here we go again!
Time for our next meet-up, the last one before we take a summer break . We are happy to announce it! It will take place on June 19, at 19.00 sharp at OKThess.
Our agenda is packed with two interesting talks.
The first speaker Elias Papavasileiou, is a Senior Frontend Tooling Engineer @Prezi, working on developer tools and platforms, enabling other frontend engineers to be more productive. Previously he has worked as a founding Frontend Engineer for a greek startup with a successful exit, and before that for an american company doing graph visualizations. Passionate about DX, modern developer tools and the JavaScript ecosystem, he has contributed to dozens of open source projects over the past seven years.
In his presentation Elias is going to share the behind-the-scenes developer story of Youtube Share Clip:
- The experience of building an open source extension for the Chrome browser
- The technologies he used and why
- How he promoted it and got feedback
- How it got to the first 100, and first 1000 users
- What happened with the business side
- And more !
The second speaker John Pourdanis, is s a Lead Software Engineer in Test with over 10 years of experience, John brings a unique perspective to software quality assurance. He started his career as a software developer, working on various projects ranging from web applications to mobile apps. During his time as a developer, John developed a deep appreciation for the importance of quality in software development and saw firsthand the impact that testing can have on the overall success of a project. Now he is working as a Lead QA Engineer @Vimachem , a company that develops software for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
In his talk we will see that in the realm of modern web development, ensuring comprehensive test coverage is paramount. This presentation delves into the integration of Playwright for end-to-end (E2E) testing with Istanbul's code coverage capabilities. In this session, attendees will gain insights into setting up a robust testing environment that not only automates user interactions but also provides detailed coverage reports.
