New River Gorge Bridge Day Weekend - Whitewater Rafting Oct. 14-16

The New River Gorge Bridge in Fayette County West Virginia is 876 ft above water level. One day a year, for six hours only, it is open to pedestrians, rapellers, bungee jumpers and SKYDIVERS. This year that day is Saturday, October 15 and we will be going to watch this spectacular event! Many jumpers come from as far as Europe and Australia to participate.
On the following day (Sunday) we will go whitewater rafting on the Gauley River, an intense 12 mile stretch of more than 40 rapids 12 of which are Class V, or the New River, a 15 mile stretch of 21 rapids ranging from I to IV (your choice).
We will be camping out locally on Friday and Saturday nights and partaking in a pig roast on Saturday night.

Leaving: Friday Oct 14 about 400pm
Returning: Sunday, Oct 16 about 1000pm
Cost: $209 for the Upper Gauley River
$163 for the Lower New River
This is a Washington Ski Club Trip. Non SCWDC members add $15
Includes: Rafting, 2 nights camping, (3 meals -pig roast Saturday, breakfast and lunch on Sunday) drinks, snacks. Bridge Day is free, but it is 5 hours away.
Does not include: Transportation (by carpool), wetsuit rental, other meals. You must bring your own tent or be prepared to share one.
