Hawk Mountain trail is a 5.4-mile loop trail located near Kempton, Pennsylvania, featuring beautiful wildflowers (seasonal) and scenic views, adventure. The trail is rated as difficult and involves rock scrambling in a few places. Don’t let that scare you. It is primarily used for hiking and birdwatching. We will start out hiking down to the River of Rocks, then up the Golden Eagle and Skyline Trails. The Skyline Trail has several big boulders that require rock scrambling. Here we will break for a lunch or snack and enjoy the view. The last leg is a straight-up climb to Lookout View, and it will be worth it. It’s a great location to spot the hawks and enjoy scenic views before heading down to the base. It needs to be a dry day to avoid the risk of slipping.

The hike starts at 10:30 AM so please meet about 10:15 AM in front of the Visitor Center to sign a release form. There is a big parking lot there, so please be early to allow ample time.
