Some of our classes are free and some are limited to supporting members (from $10/month suggested donation). There are no membership dues or fees required to attend our free classes. We want to make all our classes accessible to everyone. If you can't donate right now, you can request a tuition waiver for any paid class.
ScriptCamp: Welcome beginning and experienced screenwriters! We host regular screenwriting bootcamps, classes, script coverage and career coaching from professional, repped screenwriter Conor Kyle. About the Instructors:
Conor Kyle has written for Shudder's Creepshow (2019) and placed twice in the Nicholl Fellowship with his scripts “Peter and the Wolves” (quarterfinals, also Launchpad top 10) and The Tube (semifinals). His screenplays have also been featured on the annual Hit List, Young & Hungry List, Spec Book, and on Tracking Board’s “Best Writers of the Year” booklet.
Rebekah Humphrey-Bullen is a UK based Middle Grade and Teen writer who won the Golden Egg Award in 2022 with her novel Echoes on Titan. She has a first look deal with Chicken House Books, a division of Scholastic Press founded by Barry Cunningham, best known for discovering the Harry Potter series.
Scarlet Chen is an award-winning Chinese-Canadian screenwriter, playwright, director, and stand-up comic. Her feature FORTUNE SPRINGS won first place in the 2018 UCLAx Screenplay Competition. After years of experience working as a PA, script supervisor and staff writer on high profile Chinese television series and Hollywood co-productions (KILL BILL, THE KITE RUNNER, LOOPER and IRON MAN 3 ), she sold her original Sci-Fi Thriller TV pilot DREAM RAIDER to HBO Asia. Scarlet's one act play A COFFEE FOR YOU will premiere at the 2025 Nanaimo Fringe Festival.

How does it work?

- During this session, you will be matched up with other writers to swap critiques. If you want feedback on your script, you will need to read at least one other script. (If you want two sets of notes, you will need to read two scripts, and so on.) We will try to match everyone with scripts of a similar genre and page length.
- You have one week to read the other person's script.
- Then one week later, at the next session, give your verbal feedback on what you read and you'll receive feedback from others.
Remember, to participate and receive critiques, you must attend the meeting and be willing to critique other people's scripts. Also, your script must be in standard screenplay format.

The Advanced Lab is a workshop for writers who are serious about improving at the craft. We meet weekly to share our work for feedback and discuss writing techniques. Every two months, we complete a new feature, pilot or rewrite project.
This is a place for advanced students and emerging writers to continue their journeys by developing new projects on a regular basis and revising completed scripts.
To participate in the Advanced Lab, you should already have a firm handle on screenwriting fundamentals, with multiple features or pilots completed.
