Blockchain for Java Developers

This session will introduce Blockchain and use the Hyperledger Fabric and Composer projects to motivate and demonstrate integration with your existing Enterprise Java systems

There's no doubt that Blockchain is a rapidly growing and evolving technology. If you work on Enterprise systems then there's reasonable chance there's a use case where Blockchain could help. This session will help you understand Blockchain and how your Java skills apply. The session will provide an introduction to Blockchain along with use cases. With the aid of relevant demos and the Linux Foundation’s Hyperledger Fabric & Composer projects, you will learn how to get started with Blockchain technologies, develop and deploy Blockchain applications, and integrate with them from your favourite Java environment.

Graham Charters:
Graham is an IBM Senior Technical Staff Member and WebSphere Applications Server Developer Advocacy Lead based at IBM's R&D Laboratory in Hursley, UK. He takes a keen interest in emerging technologies and practices and in particular programming models. His past exploits include establishing and contributing to open source projects at PHP and Apache and participation in, and leading, industry standards at OASIS and the OSGi Alliance.

Luc Desrosiers:
As an IBM Certified IT Architect with over 20 years of experience, I’ve had the chance to work in different roles: developer, consultant, pre-sales architect. I have recently moved my family from Canada to the UK to join one great lab: IBM Hursley. This is where I had the opportunity to join the IBM Blockchain team. I am now working with clients across multiple industries to help them explore and understand how Blockchain technologies can enable transformative use cases and solutions.
