Furlough Go - Mobilising volunteers during COVID-19
Hosted by Soft Skills for Business Success
Details
Furlough Go was built in just a few weeks as soon as the COVID-19 crisis gripped the UK. It is a fantastic example of how the crisis has brought about social and technological innovation.
Furlough Go matches community groups who need to take on additional volunteers to respond to the crisis, with furloughed workers who want to help. Furlough Go works across the charity sector, adult social care, public health and the NHS in order to support and mobilise volunteers to where there is the greatest need. Working specifically within these sectors means that volunteers are likely to already have the right skills, mindset and DBS checks that are needed for volunteer roles.
This project is a collaboration between SPACE4 members Gus Alston, of the C4 Consortium, which supports community sector in Camden, and Time to Spare, a digital micro business.
During this webinar the developers behind the project will talk about how they realised the project so quickly, the impact that it has made so far, and how it can be used by more organisations and in ongoing situations.
