During the pandemic, stuck at home with time to reflect, I made a simple box using whatever crafts I had around. Inside, I placed handwritten questions—things I’d always wanted to ask my friends and family but never found the right moment to.
One day, I brought the box out, placed it on the table, and we took turns drawing questions.
I realized two things:
- There’s so much we don’t know about the people close to us
- There are some thing you will never know if you never ask
Alex and I have been friends for over ten years. We’re two introverts who love meaningful conversations but often struggle with small talks.
So, two years ago, we started working on a little side project: The Onion Talks
And it slowly turned into something much more meaningful.
We kept wondering:
- What if we could skip the small talk with new people in a playful, easy way?
- What if we could ask deep questions without feeling awkward or intense?
- What if real conversations could happen naturally—anytime, anywhere?
So, we spent countless hours crafting an icebreaker game that could do just that!
We carefully selected 360 questions we felt deserved to be asked.
We tested them on friends, family, strangers—anyone willing to play!
We believe that asking the right questions can bring people together and create the sense of belonging we all crave.
