We will be hiking in the southwest corner of Alberta “where the Prairies meet the Rockies“. The Crowsnest Pass, Castle Provincial Park and Beauvais Lake Provincial Park are situated south and west of Pincher Creek, Alberta. There will be a daily shuttle taking us to hiking trailheads, offering easy to strenuous day group hikes, before returning to Pincher Creek for dinner and evening activities. Hikers will stay in shared accommodation in Pincher Creek, namely the Heritage Inn. Rooms will be allocated by the Trip Coordinator based on double occupancy and a banquet room is available for evening activities. There will be a stop with a lunch on the first day of the trip (i.e. on Sunday), including a site visit and tour of Head Smashed in Buffalo Jump. A visit to the heritage village in Pincher Creek is planned for one of the evenings.
Trips leave from the Acclaim Hotel near the Calgary airport hotel, with pickups in other locations. On the final day (i.e. on Friday) after the hikes are completed in the early afternoon, the trips will return directly to the Acclaim Hotel with drop-offs along the route.
