We're excited to be relaunching our meetup and hosting our first event of 2023 live-and-in-person! We have two speakers from the Microsoft community who will be joining us to discuss Azure.

Topic #1: Architecting on Azure

Description:
For any modern cloud application you want to build, there are likely multiple services and options that you can use on Azure. In this session, MJ will introduce us to a variety of Azure building blocks and walk us through how we can put them together into increasingly interesting architectural scenarios.

Whether you're already a seasoned Azure pro or someone who hasn't had the chance to fully dive into Azure, this session will surely inform & excited you about.. Architecting on Azure!

Bio:
MJ Alwajeeh is a Director of Software Engineering at Slalom Build in Toronto. He’s an avid learner and a technology enthusiast with 18 years of experience building web applications and cloud solutions using .NET, C#, and Azure.

Topic #2: Building stateful serverless orchestrations with Azure Durable Azure Functions

Description:
Durable Functions are an extension of Azure Functions that lets you write stateful functions in a serverless environment that unlock powerful orchestration workflows, which can transparently scale to handle massive workloads.

In this session, Callon will show you how to build stateful Azure Functions with .NET 7. He will also cover different application patterns that you can utilize in your applications to benefit from Durable Functions.

Bio:
Callon Campbell is a Technical Architect, Developer and Microsoft MVP in Azure. With over 20 years of experience, he's been developing enterprise applications for web, desktop, mobile, and cloud-native applications using Microsoft Azure, .NET, ASP.NET, and SQL Server. He's passionate about learning new technologies and sharing his experience with fellow peers in the community. Callon is also the organizer of “Canada’s Technology Triangle .NET User Group” in Kitchener, Ontario.
