What we’re about
A meeting of German-language speakers and learners in the SLC area open to all levels of proficiency and fluency. We will try to meet regularly, roughly every two weeks, in the Downtown, University, and Sugar House areas. I would like to keep the meetings informal, but with a focus on learning and improving everyone's speaking abilities and comfort level. Speaking, however, will not be required. If you want to show up and listen in, you're welcome, too. Fluent and native speakers are especially welcome to attend.

It is now an official tradition to have a meeting at T.F. Brewing near the summer solstice. It's always a nice spot in the summer. The weather is looking seasonal this coming week. It should be an enjoyable evening out on the back Biergarten area, but if it's too hot, we can find a table inside.
The Templin Family (T.F.) Brewery is a few blocks south of downtown SLC, on 300 West. They specialize in making German-style beer, many with ingredients imported from Germany. The interior is large and industrial with a Bierhalle feel.
More info on T.F., including their Biers and their non-alcoholic drink options, is available here: Templin Family Brewing. They don't have a kitchen, but there is a different food truck each day. I'll post more information on the food truck that will be there on that evening. They usually post the calendar on Monday of each week.
T.F. does allow food from other nearby restaurants to be brought in. There is a taco place, Tacos Garay, and a Greek-style gyro and burger place, Golden Gyros, across the street on 900 South. Both are good options if you're not into the food truck offerings on this particular evening.
There is no real start or stop time, so come whenever you can and stay as long as you would like. We usually stick around kind of late at this location. Construction in that area has been completed, and parking is a lot easier to find. It does require you to be 21 to enter (sorry if that's an issue).
