What we’re about
A meeting of German-language speakers and learners in the SLC area open to all levels of proficiency and fluency. We will try to meet regularly, roughly every two weeks, in the Downtown, University, and Sugar House areas. I would like to keep the meetings informal, but with a focus on learning and improving everyone's speaking abilities and comfort level. Speaking, however, will not be required. If you want to show up and listen in, you're welcome, too. Fluent and native speakers are especially welcome to attend.

Hi Everybody,
I am trying a new location for the next meeting. It's Bruges Belgian Bistro in Sugar House (2314 S Highland Dr). This was recommended by a group member. To be honest, I have never been to this location, but the original shop is in downtown SLC and I have been there many times. They specialize in Belgian street-cart food. The owner is a super-nice Belgian guy who knows his frites and imports ingredients (specifically the sugar pearls) from Belgium to get the waffles right.
The downtown shop is too small to host a meeting, but this Sugar House location appears to have more seating, including an outdoor patio. I will try to stop by in the next few days and make sure it will work. I'll post some photos and a menu. Their online menu is available here:

Anyone with any level of fluency is welcome to attend. There is no agenda or start time, so arrive whenever you can. Guests are also welcome. It's open to anyone, but speaking in German as much as possible is encouraged. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me or post a comment below.
