Python Powered: Quantum Computing & GreenBike Optimization

Details

For November's meetup, we're excited to offer two talks on two different topics, both showing the power of modern computing and python in 2022.

Our first talk will be by Jonas Neubert exploring how he used python to get the most out of Salt Lake City's $7 GreenBike:

> How do you get the most bike for the buck out of a $7 day-pass for Salt Lake’s GreenBike bike share system? This talk is about how I used optimization algorithms, a routing API, public bike share datasets, map visualization libraries, and a whole lot of Python to plan a scenic-but-optimal 42-stop bike share trip through SLC. Not a cyclist (yet)? Come to the talk anyway! The same techniques also work for planning walks, road trips, and city hopping vacations!

Our next talk will be by Jeremy Retamar Arrieta and he'll be exploring quantum computing and specifically discussing how encryption can work in a quantum computing environment.

As usual, pizza and raffle prizes will be served!
An optional $5 donation is requested to cover refreshment costs.
