SESSION #2: Another way of getting data ready: Azure Databricks
by Dinesh Priyankara, Principal Architect/Founder, dinesQL (MVP Data Platform)

We have been working with data on all sorts of solutions, like data warehousing, business intelligence, big data, and machine learning. All of these solution required getting data analysis-ready. Each of these solutions require different means of data engineering. In most cases, when the volume of data is high, complex, and real-time analysis is expected, Apache Spark has proved to be the best. When Apache Spark is souped up as Databricks, and then put on Azure, it became a game changer. Join Dinesh as he shows you how Azure Databricks is used for data engineering, and how it enables collaboration among data scientists, data engineers, and business analysts.

Dinesh is an experienced professional and database enthusiast with skills in database management systems and business intelligence. Possessing over 18 years of experience on data related technologies, he does training, consulting, and is a top contributor to the local SQL Server community. In recognition of his contributions and expertise he has demonstrated, he was awarded the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award for SQL Server for 13 consecutive years since 2006.
