Jobs & AI: the risks, rewards and realities

Continuing on with our intention to meet on the first Thursday of the month we are back again.

This time we are going to meet in the Building Block to talk 'Hey Dude, where's my job: AI & the great redundancy'. This will be an exploration of the changes and opportunities that possibly the greatest revolution of all our lives presents us.

On the night we will have Clive Foley (LinkedIn) and Alastair McDermott (LinkedIn) share their thoughts on the topic.

Clive Foley is a fractional CTO and consultant. He specialises in leading companies from the uncertain world of post product market fit to the certainty of growth and proven unit economics at scale. He has developed proven playbooks based on the successes and scars of doing this. Both for himself and his clients.

His takes on AI will include:
1. Why the golden age of software engineering is coming to an end
2. The impact this will have on companies and workforces of the future
3. What’s next for anyone working in the digital space

Alastair McDermott is a recovering software developer turned AI strategist, author of the Complete AI Toolkit, and founder of HumanSpark.ai. With a background in tech, business, and gently mocking buzzwords, Alastair now spends his days teaching people how to befriend robots without losing their jobs. At the meetup, he'll be diving into the AI-fueled jobquake with his trademark mix of insight, dry humor, and just enough sarcasm to make the algorithms feel slightly uncomfortable.
