Let’s give Whale Rock Reservoir another try. This is a flat out and back trail that goes part way around the lake. About 4 miles total.

They do ask for a $2 day use fee.

There are restrooms available.

No significant shade so hats and sunscreen are advised

Parking is limited, please arrange carpools if you can - I have space in my car for 2-3.

During/after a rain they lock the gate so rain cancels - which is what happened last time we tried this. If we have rain I will go up the day before and see if we have access.
