(Last) Sunday Portrait Session @ Oak and Otter
Details
Let's get our (people) sketch on! It's that time of the month again where we get to draw our favorite subject - each each other - not only are people essential for scale in your sketches, but drawing the person across from you is also a great way to get to know them (or perhaps yourself) better through the process. If you're new to portraits don't worry, we'll warm up with some fun exercises to get the hands loose and creative juices flowing.
Note the new location. The Hub is great but I'm still looking for a place that recreates some of the Bang the Drum vibe we used to have.
Free parking on site or street.

Fine Print:
As usual, we'll do a quick 'meet n greet' to get to know each other (if you're new or catch or for the regulars) for a few mins. We'll start with a few short warm up exercises to get the ball rolling, then move into our two longer sessions.
Typically we can get two to three sketches in per event. Plan for about 25-40 mins per session. This gives us the ability to draw the same space from different angles or pick up and move to another nearby spot to keep things fresh and interesting. After each sketch session, we'll get back together as a group to share and discuss what we created.
Things to consider before joining session:
- Skill level: All ages and abilities welcome. No sketching experience needed. This is a non-judgemental supportive environment that encourages you to express yourself however you want. If you have any mobility considerations please let me know so we can factor that into the route/destination.
- Supplies: Be sure to bring a sketchbook and something to draw with. I'll have some extra pens and watercolor kits if anyone wants to experiment or forgets something.
- Sitting & Weather: We'll be inside for this one so we'll be good.
- Questions & RSVP: Reach out so I can answer them. If you can't make it, be sure to update your reservation in advance so I have a good idea of final head count for planning / seating purposes.
