Sunday Sketchin' - Mission Plaza Downtown SLO

Go get your Sunday Sketch on! This session will be self-guided, show up and sketch. No formal structure this week.

Suggested itinerary:

• Meet in plaza and socialize as everyone arrives - 2:00 - 2:10
• Go around the group and introduce yourselves - 2:10 - 2:20
• Explore the plaza, creek, or nearby restaurant patios in order to find the perfect place to sketch (pro tip, during your introductions, see if anyone wants to sketch the area you're heading to so you'll have some company (if you want it)) - 2:20 - 2:30
• Sketch one or however many spots you find interesting - 2:30-3:45
• Meet back at the same starting place (bear fountain) and share/discover what everyone else came up with during the session time. - 3:45 - 4:00.
• Don't forget to take and post photos of your process and finished product to post back here on the MeetUp event page.
• Have fun!

Fine print: Typically, we get two sketches in per event. Plan for about 30-40 mins per session – this gives us the ability to draw the same space from different angles or pick up and walk to another nearby spot to keep things fresh and interesting. Before, between, and after sessions, we'll do a quick group introduction/share of what we created - in order to support and inspire each other while reinforcing the communal aspects of the group.

Things to consider before joining session:

• Skill level: All ages and abilities welcome. No sketching experience needed. This is a non-judgemental supportive environment that encourages you to express yourself however you want. If you have any mobility considerations please let me know so we can factor that into the route/destination.
• Supplies: Be sure to bring a sketchbook and something to draw with. I'll have some extra pens and watercolor kits if anyone wants to experiment or forgets something.
• Sitting: We typically sit wherever we can. On the ground, a bench (if available), on a wall. If you need it, bring something like a towel or blanket to sit on if concerned about dirt or comfort.
• Weather: Bring a jacket as it cools off in the evening and or hat/sunscreen as we may be in direct sunlight for up to 45 mins at a time. If the weather gets real bad we can go indoors or reschedule.
• Questions & RSVP: Reach out so we can answer them. If you can't make it, be sure to update your reservation in advance so I have a good idea of final head count for planning purposes.
