Sunday Sketching @ a Slocal Farm

Let's get our Sunday sketch on! We've been kindly invited to join one of our members, Becky, to spend the afternoon at her charming residence - which overlooks the SLO airport, has views of the Seven Sisters mountain range, and some friendly llama and goat neighbors.

Be sure to bring a beach chair or picnic blanket to make yourself comfortable outside, or inside. Eric and Becky will have a cooler with some refreshments and snacks on hand, but you are encouraged to bring anything else you’d like to drink or eat!

How to get there: Turn onto a private road that takes you to a big White House, turn onto the dirt driveway and just behind the house you will see a basketball court on the right where you are encouraged to double-park. Becky's place is the brown single-story building just next to the court.

Fine print: Typically, we get two sketches in per event. Plan for about 30-40 mins per sketch – this gives us the ability to draw the same space from different angles or pick up and walk to another nearby spot to keep things fresh and interesting. Before, between, and after sketching rounds, we'll do a quick group intro/share out of what we created - in order to support and inspire each other while reinforcing the communal aspects of the group.

Things to consider before joining session:

• Skill level: All ages and abilities welcome. No sketching experience needed. This is a non-judgemental supportive environment that encourages you to express yourself however you want. If you have any mobility considerations please let me know so we can factor that into the route/destination.
• Supplies: Be sure to bring a sketchbook and something to draw with. I'll have some extra pens and watercolor kits if anyone wants to experiment or forgets something.
• Sitting: We typically sit wherever we can. On the ground, a bench (if available), on a wall. Depending on the location, you may want to bring a blanket or chair to sit on.
• Weather: Bring a jacket as it cools off in the evening and or hat/sunscreen as we may be in direct sunlight for up to 45 mins at a time. If the weather gets real bad we can go indoors or reschedule.
