Art After Dark + Devil Wears Prada 2
Details
The Devil Wears Art? First Prada? Ok I give up trying to find a name that combines these two ideas because you can attend either or both!
Let's start with our usual sketch session format at SLOMA from 5-7 pm and for those that are up for the double feature, join Hether (our guest host for the night!) for a screening of the Devil Wears Prada 2 - showing at the Downtown Cinema at 7:45.
Feel free to use the discussion thread to find out who's going to what, getting tickets ahead of time, ask questions, etc.
More info from the museum here...and from SLO County arts here.
Info about the film here.

Fine print: Typically, we get two sketches in per event. Plan for about 30-40 mins per session – this gives us the ability to draw the same space from different angles or pick up and walk to another nearby spot to keep things fresh and interesting. Before, between, and after sessions, we'll do a quick group introduction/share of what we created - in order to support and inspire each other while reinforcing the communal aspects of the group.
Things to consider before joining session:
- Skill level: All ages and abilities welcome. No sketching experience needed. This is a non-judgemental supportive environment that encourages you to express yourself however you want. If you have any mobility considerations please let me know so we can factor that into the route/destination.
- Supplies: Be sure to bring a sketchbook and something to draw with.
- Sitting: We typically sit wherever we can. On the ground, a bench (if available), on a wall. If you need it, bring something like a towel or blanket to sit on if concerned about dirt or comfort.
- Weather: Bring a jacket as it cools off in the evening and or hat/sunscreen as we may be in direct sunlight for up to 45 mins at a time. If the weather gets real bad we can go indoors or reschedule.
- Questions & RSVP: Reach out so I can answer them. If you can't make it, be sure to update your RSVP in advance so I have a good idea of final head count for planning purposes.
