Vladdy's Remote Wilderness Backpack, Vol. 15 - Tombstone TP Yukon

Details

Vladdy Says: I will try for two this year! This is a far away one! Tombstone TP in Yukon. Drive is 4 days one way, so better fly to Whitehorse or Dawson City and drive 3 to 7 hours form there. Flights from Calgary are not terribly expensive.

Aug 30 - Sep. 7th (preliminary dates for now, may change +/- a week depending on my work schedule), 7-9 days total. 1 days to get to trailhead (fly plus drive). The backpacking trip should be 4 days, maybe an extra day for more exploring. I'd do a day hike after that as well. Trails are well maintained in the park.

Expect certain misery related to weather. Rain is probable. Temperatures should be about low singe digits at night, low double digits at day. The area very pretty in fall colors in late August!

Only committed reliable backpackers please, no flakes that will cancel a week before.

Be comfortable and knowledgeable in wilderness self reliance in grizzly habitat.

Some moderate scrambling may be involved depending on which ridges we chose to pick.

It is desirable you know how to use a compass and read a map, although I can take care of these aspects.

Expenses will include flight tickets, rental car, sharing gas money.

Vladdy guarantees: The place is a northern classic!

Vladdy requires: No photos be posted on social media, this is for the love of wilderness, not for self promotion!
