Kino Kabaret Milano 2ª edizione – 48 ore Film Festival

Details

Kino Movement Milan in collaboration with the Slow Mill Cultural Center presents the second Kino Kabaret of Milan.
“KINO” MOVEMENT
Kino is an international film movement based on making films with no budget, in a spirit of mutual support, non-competition, freedom, and goodwill. Its motto is: “Do well with nothing, do better with little, but do it now.” This movement began in Montreal, Quebec (Canada) in February 1999 with Kino Montreal, and now includes around 100 active cells worldwide.
Participants – called Kinoïtes (the Kinetics) – meet during two types of events: monthly Screenings and Kino Kabarets, to create short films within a limited time frame, ranging from 24 to 48 hours, or a few days.
Open to both professionals and amateurs, these events are creative spaces without censorship or competition, allowing amateurs to improve and professionals to deepen their artistic exploration.
At the Milan Kino Kabaret, filmmakers and actors will gather to make short films in 48 hours. These films will then be shown directly to the public at the end of the time limit.
For more information, read the official Principles of the groups claiming to be part of the Kino movement.

Weekend Schedule:
Meeting: June 6 at 6:00 PM
Filmmakers (directing, cinematography, editing, screenwriting, sound, makeup, set design, music) and actors will meet on May 22 at 6:00 PM to register for the event and get the details about the short films to be made. Teams can be pre-formed or spontaneously assembled on site. Everyone must bring their own equipment. Films can be made with any camera capable of recording Full HD video, including smartphones.
Submission: June 8 at 7:00 PM
The short films, with a strict maximum length of 5 minutes, must be submitted in their final form to the Kino coordinator by the set time. The coordinator will confirm receipt and inclusion in the screening schedule.
Final Screening: June 8 at 9:00 PM
The screening will take place in the presence of all the teams and an interested audience. A free discussion between the Kinetics and the public will follow, in line with the spirit of Kino: through collaboration among its members, Kino fulfills its true purpose—to motivate, learn, and inspire.
The coordinator of Kino Movement Milan, Mateo Çili, filmmaker, actor, and acting teacher, will be available throughout the 72 hours to assist teams in making the best films possible. The Slow Mill cultural center spaces will be available as a base for anyone needing a place to store equipment, charge batteries, edit footage, etc., or simply to grab a bite and relax.
To apply as an individual or as a team, send an email to **info@slowmill.it**, listing team members and their roles, or—if applying individually—specify the role you’d like to take on.
