Wita Tanka (Pike Island) Walk at Fort Snelling

We'll start the walk at 10:30 a.m. and will be maintaining a slow, steady pace for approximately 4 miles from the parking lot and around the edge of the island. The path is smooth but not paved, with minimal elevation.

Address to meet at: 101 Snelling Lake Rd, Saint Paul, MN 55111 (inside Fort Snelling State Park)

Some things to know:

*This is a state park and there is an entry fee. Consider carpooling to avoid multiple fees. Please do not leave anything in your car and lock your doors while we're on our walk.

*Plan on meeting at the parking lot - look for the lilac handkerchief tied to my walking stick so we can gather in a group.

*Recommendations: wear appropriate shoes (walking/hiking/running shoes) and clothing for the weather, bring a hat and/or sunglasses, wear sunblock, consider bug spray, bring a small towel or handkerchief for sweat, a small water bottle, and please bring/wear a mask if this is comfortable for you.

*Pets are welcome if allowed at the location, as long as they remain on a leash or in a stroller. The pet owner is responsible for poop clean-up and disposal. Please ask before allowing your pet to greet others - some folks might not be comfortable with new pets.
