Cherry Blossom Slow Walk at Jackson Park.
Details
Jackson Park has 160 cherry trees!
The Cheery Grove is outside of the Garden of the Phoenix, just south of MSI - that's out of my usual range, but the cherry trees are worth the trek!
NOTE: DATE SUBJECT to CHANGE, due to unpredictable blooming season.
PLEASE check back to see any changes!
I prefer Tuesdays, April 14 or 21
Rain dates Wed, April 15 or 22.
Thursday or Friday as backup.
Once you sign up, I suggest keeping your RSVP open until the date is finalized, so you can see any updates.
****
Let's have a picnic! Bring your own bag lunch, and we can chill under a cloud of white and pink blossoms!
In the photos, you will see the stages of the cherry trees from Budding (stage 1) to Full Bloom (stage 6).
As of April 6, the trees were at Stage 3-4.
We want to go when the trees are moving from Stage 5 to Stage 6.
To make it easier to find each other, we will meet at the north entrance of MSI, near the door of the main stairs.
You can take a train downtown and then get the #6 bus from State and Van Buren to MSI.
