Maungarei Wetlands & Mt Wellington & Stonefields - Wandering Free

This walk is a combo of urban walking and also getting off the concrete , to slow hike up the nearby maunga , Mt. Wellington, aka Mount Maungarei , a very old Volcanic Mountain with incredible views all over Auckland where we will wander all over, taking the alternative route to reach its summit , via a beautiful tree reserve.

This is a Slow Hike, and so active children and teens are welcome if they are reasonably active, and can accompany you as your Guests.

All other adults must Officially Join us as a Member.

Everyone must come with a smile...And wear strong grippy walking shoes. Bring water, and lunch, and carry everything to keep yourself warm and happy.

We are Meeting at Stonefields in Front of Houses on Tephra Rd, lookin at the Green Reserve and Toilets. And Maungarei Wetlands.

When - Monday 2nd June 2025.

Meet And Greet is 10am with an approx finish at 3pm.. thus allowing plenty of time to stop, learn something about the history, and things we see along the way.

No dogs or Smokers or Music Devices..

We will pass a hat around for koha, donations for the Meet Up Website which has tripled its fees, and put a paywall up for its members , like you.
