FULL A whole day of GLASS FUSION

This day offers the opportunity to learn about glass fusion techniques.

After a brief talk and a look around at lots of examples you will become familiar with the different forms of glass, learn how to make them the size you want to be and about fusing finishes. You'll be able to make, for example, a set of 9 coasters or a couple of slumped pieces. The glass will then go into the kilns to fuse and will be available to collect usually within a week.

We'll take a short break during which you can have a lunch, if you choose to bring one.

Something else you may be interested in is a 'Tiffany Glass' day. This simple technique involves wrapping glass in copper foil and soldering it together.

You will develop your design, mark it out on the glass and and cut the shapes. Once pinned in place it will be time to apply the copper foil and solder the pieces together. Finally a patina will be polished on. You will take your stained glass work of art home with you on the day.

The price for a tiffany glass 5 hour session is excellent value at £65.

This cost covers all materials including glass up to 30 cm x 30 cm and workshop time.

These one day workshops are 'stand alone' and are equally suited to beginners and more experienced customers. As you become more familiar with fused glass and how it behaves there are opportunities to experiment by, for example, booking my spare kiln shelf for a spot of free form work or having a go with kiln paper or working with stencils. Why not book another session, be ambitious, and combine glass fusion with stained glass? Warning: it's rather addictive!
