Introduction:
The first ride of the new year, this will be the coldest one but fun, nevertheless. The Palisades will be empty for a change, and we can advance as far as we feel like. Full size and rental bikes are all welcome, along with electric rides. The pace will be easy -- about 10 MPH.

Meeting:
We meet inside Grand Central Station near the Southwest entrance at Vanderbilt Ave & 42nd.

Ride:
We are planning only 14 miles but could go deeper into the Palisades if we feel like it. Will stay in the center of Manhattan for warmth but will briefly brave the cool winds on the GWB.

End:
We will have our New Year's feast at our long time favorite OISO Barbecue, where our bikes are always welcome and safe. Cash is king. Participation is optional.

Weather:
Face masks and hot hand and foot warmers are recommended. We will postpone if the temperature drops to freezing or if there is significant precipitation.

Safety:
No helmets, masks or boosters are required. The pace is nice and easy. We typically average 5 MPH and stop to take pictures. The ride is mostly on greenways and bike lanes. Lights are highly recommended as the sun will set early. Your safety is your responsibility.
