This group has met regularly since 1992. Meets weekly Thursdays! SMART Recovery is a mutual-help organization which uses a proprietary 4-Point program based on scientific principles. It is abstinence-based, free and interactive. Groups are small, usually 6-12, and completely confidential. The basic format is Cognitive-Behavioral Psychology. Facilitators are trained vounteers. There are also 130,000 registrants who participate in chat rooms, message boards, forums, blogs and 18 weekly interactive online meetings under the guidance of trained volunteers, almost all of whom are graduates of the program.

There have been 24,000 SMART Recovery meetings in MA since 1990. There are 1200 weekly SR meetings on 6 continents. The SR Handbook is available in 11 languages.
