San Diego Smerconish Mingle #1

Join us for the inaugural Smerconish Mingle Meetup – San Diego, an evening focused on thoughtful conversation, community building, and civic curiosity—without the shouting or posturing.

Inspired by the spirit of Michael Smerconish’s Mingle Project, this first meetup is designed to help people connect across political perspectives through respectful, engaging dialogue.

The evening will blend structured and unstructured mingling:

• At times, participants will be randomly paired for short, one-on-one conversations to encourage fresh perspectives and prevent echo chambers.
• At other moments, you’ll be free to mix and mingle organically, continuing conversations that resonate.

To keep things lively and inclusive, we’ll also incorporate:

• Smerconish-themed trivia
• Poll questions (some familiar, some new) that we’ll revisit together to spark discussion and reflection

No expertise required. You don’t need to follow politics obsessively—just bring curiosity, respect, and a willingness to listen as much as you speak.

This is not a debate or a rally. It’s a space to explore ideas, hear how others think, and meet people you might not otherwise cross paths with.
