## 🌸 Main Highlight: Maymont

One of the crown jewels of Richmond, Maymont is a 100-acre historic estate with stunning gardens, wildlife, and walking paths. It’s the centerpiece of our trip—and honestly, you could spend an entire day here without getting bored.

### 🌺 The Gardens (What You’ll See)

Italian Garden
This is the more formal, elegant side of Maymont. Expect:

  • Terraced lawns and stone pathways
  • Beautiful fountains and statues
  • Rose gardens and a pergola
  • A classic European feel inspired by Renaissance Italy

It’s perfect for photos and a slower, scenic stroll.
Japanese Garden
Completely different vibe—this one is peaceful and immersive:

  • A large waterfall and koi pond
  • Stone bridges and winding paths
  • Red maple trees and traditional lanterns
  • Designed as a ā€œstroll garden,ā€ meaning every turn gives you a new view

This is easily the most relaxing part of the park.
Arboretum 🌳
If you like nature walks:

  • Over 200 species of trees and plants from around the world
  • Rare and exotic species mixed with native Virginia trees
  • Feels like walking through a living museum

Specialty Gardens 🌼
Smaller themed areas scattered throughout:

  • Butterfly garden (great in spring/summer)
  • Herb garden
  • Seasonal flower displays and trails

  • Bobcats
  • Foxes
  • Bald eagles šŸ¦…
