For over 20 years SMUGz (Southside Massive Urban Gorillaz) has been a driving force in Hong Kong’s padding community. As a team, we take the history, camaraderie and spirited tradition of this sport incredibly seriously.
We provide year-round training sessions at our home base in Stanley, participate in races and competitions across Hong Kong and overseas, whilst also organising social events to engage with the broader paddling community.

After an incredible performance, finishing 2nd at the Stanley International Dragon Boat Race, SMUGz is riding high on a wave of enthusiasm! But we’re just getting started—we’re committed to continuous improvement and pushing our limits!
🗓️ Mark Your Calendars: July will be our month to recharge, but come August, we’re back on the water for an action-packed season through October, with thrilling races scheduled around Hong Kong!
🚣‍♂️ If you raced last weekend and can’t wait to get back on the water, reach out! We also have two open days planned on June 21st and 28th—perfect for new and returning members!
