Learn Tai Chi
Details
Join us for the study of traditional Chen Taijiquan, the oldest recognized style of Tai Chi and the foundation from which many other Tai Chi systems developed.
This meetup focuses on the principles of Neijia (Internal Martial Arts), emphasizing the development of body connection, structure, balance, relaxation, and whole-body movement. Students will learn traditional Chen Taijiquan training methods that improve health, mobility, coordination, and body awareness while developing the internal qualities that define the Chinese internal arts.
Training may include:
• Silk Reeling Exercises (Chan Si Gong)
• Four Corners (Sijiao)
• Standing Practice (Zhan Zhuang)
• Traditional Chen Taijiquan Forms
• Internal Body Mechanics
• Rooting and Balance Development
• Martial Applications and Theory
• Health and Longevity Training
Unlike many modern exercise-based Tai Chi programs, this meetup explores Taijiquan as a complete internal martial art and method of self-cultivation. While students may experience benefits such as improved balance, flexibility, mobility, stress reduction, and overall well-being, the training is rooted in the traditional principles and methods of Chen Taijiquan.
Beginners are welcome, and no prior martial arts experience is required.
Whether your goal is improved health, personal development, martial arts training, or a deeper understanding of the internal arts, this meetup provides a solid foundation for long-term practice.

## About Your Instructor
David Andreasen has been studying the Chinese internal martial arts since 1997. His Taijiquan background includes training as a private student of one of Grandmaster Chen Xiaowang's private disciples and currently training privately with Chen Huixian.
In addition to Taijiquan, David has received private instruction in Baguazhang and Xinyiquan, providing him with a broad perspective on the principles shared throughout the Chinese internal martial arts tradition.
His teaching emphasizes the development of authentic internal skills, including structure, intent, body connection, rooting, and efficient movement. While Chen Taijiquan serves as the primary training method, students are introduced to principles common to the internal arts as a whole, helping them better understand the relationship between Taijiquan, Baguazhang, and Xinyiquan.
The goal is not simply to learn movements, but to develop the internal qualities that have made the Chinese internal martial arts respected for generations.
