Snowflake App Runtime hands-on lab
Details
Building an app usually means standing up infrastructure before you write a line of business logic: a database connection, an auth system, a hosting account, access control. Snowflake App Runtime removes that step. You deploy the app into your Snowflake account, so it already has the identity, data access, and governance your account runs on.
With Cortex Code, you describe the app you want, it scaffolds a Next.js project wired to your Snowflake data, and snow app deploy puts it live. No separate database to provision, no auth system to build, no credentials to manage. When the app uses caller's rights, each user's queries run under their own Snowflake permissions, so per-user access control comes from the platform, not from code you write.
In the workshop, you will build a churn-risk dashboard from sample data, add metric cards, segment charts, and a risk table, then use Cortex Code to extend it with a feature of your own.
