So Cal Explorers Dine Around The World's monthly series takes you to the Philippines.

What is a BOODLE FIGHT you ask?
A boodle fight is a Filipino Kamayan feast -- a cultural culinary experience that will be fun for all So Cal Explorers.

Kamayan is a traditional way of eating in the Philippines.
The word "Kamayan" literally means to eat with your hands. The food comes out family-style and is plated on banana leaves that cover your whole table. Your rice will be plated in the center of the table and all of the traditional dishes will be decoratively placed for everyone to share.

Please be aware the Filipino dishes served are preset.

ALL KAMAYANS INCLUDE:
Lumpia ( Filipino Egg-roll Pork)
White rice
Assorted dipping sauces
Fresh Fruits

The "ulam" or entrees for our Boodle Fight are as follows:

Chicken Adobo
Lechon Kawali (pork)
Fried Boneless Bangus(milk fish)
Bistek Tagalog (beef)
Stir-Fried vegetables
Pancit*
Bibingka*
Leche Flan*
Assorted tray of Filipino desserts
Bottled water
Canned fruit juices
* will be made by yours truly :-)

The cost is $65 per person, is non- refundable and must be paid in advance.
You will be placed on the Wait List. Once you pay your $65, I will move you to the Going List.

We have a limit of 25 persons so sign up and pay soon!

Please send Jeanette Lagda - payment via Zelle or Venmo at jay1la@yahoo.com. The last 4 digits of my phone number is 1015 if needed.

Come with an appetite and let's learn how to eat "kamayan" style!
