Join the So Cal Explorers along with the Surfrider Foundation (North OC) and Bolsa Chica Land Trust for a beach cleanup of Bolsa Chica State Beach.

Bring your family, friends and make new acquaintances to raise awareness about litter and plastic pollution.

Learn a bit more about Surfrider Foundation's beach cleanup program and be equipped to skim the beach, shoreline, parking lot, etc. for waste (mainly plastic) that doesn't belong. Clean the shores so Surfrider Foundation can collect data to use for making environmental action decisions.

PLEASE SIGN UP HERE IN ORDER TO ATTEND WHICH INCLUDES SIGNING A WAIVER:

Before coming out:

- Bring reusable water bottle (we don't have cups), reusable gloves (gardening or mechanic), and sun protection.
- Avoid bringing plastic bottles, bags of chips, and other single use plastic products.
- I recommend wearing a hat, sunglasses, shorts, and flip flops.
- Dress for the beach

Cleaning up:

- You can scavenge the shoreline, beach, parking lot, etc.
- Do NOT collect seaweed, wood, rocks, stones, seashells by the seashore sold by Sally. Let Surfrider Foundation know if you find any 'sleeping' animals for Parks and Rec. to scoop up.
- Bring Surfrider Foundation back your trash once your bag is full, time runs out, or you must leave. They will weigh the trash, record the weight, then sort out the trash for items to be recycled

Arriving:
- Head RIGHT once inside the main gate of the Bolsa Chica State Beach Parking lots
- PARK in the LOT where you should see a Surfrider Foundation pop up tent. Bolsa Chica State Beach has moved to kiosk pay system. Surfrider Foundation is currently working on a way to allow people to park freely and will update this if we have a viable path before this cleanup.
- Check in at the Surfrider popup tent

Lunch TBD for those who want to join afterwards.
