SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK
Details
Hi Explorers! If you can't make it to Rossmoor on July 2 here's a second option. Come join us as we enjoy having a picnic dinner and watching a great local theater production of Shakespeare’s Macbeth under the summer sky on the beautiful green lawn surrounded by the breathtaking architecture of Soka University.
I will try to get to the park at 6:00 pm to secure a good viewing spot near the stage. The performance starts at 7:00 pm. Please bring a low back chair to sit on and a blanket or sweater as it may get a bit chilly later in the evening. Also, for those who wish to also arrive early, feel free to bring a picnic dinner to eat while we wait for the performance to begin.
Address:
Soka University
1 University Dr., Aliso Viejo, 92656
Synopsis from Sparknotes:
Macbeth is a tragedy that tells the story of a soldier whose overriding ambition and thirst for power cause him to abandon his morals and bring about the near destruction of the kingdom he seeks to rule.
About Shakespeare by the Sea:
Shakespeare by the Sea (SBTS) is a nonprofit organization that was started in 1998. The first season was a success with over 3,000 people attending the initial nine performances at what was then an unused facility in the park.
Since then, SBTS has blossomed. It now boasts a repertory season that runs for 4 weeks in venues throughout LA and Orange Counties.
The Free Summer performances are for everyone and the audience is a melting pot of Americana. It is the only annual admission free theatrical event that serves the entire South Bay, LA, and parts of Orange Counties.
