2023 Military Family BBQ

Our Group for the last several years have been the Volunteer Staff photographers for the Camp Pendleton Dark Horse 3/5 Battalion special events. This has given us an opportunity to directly support these men and women that provide so much for us.

This years summer BBQ will be held on base at Camp Pendleton. The battalion is deployed at this time so will be a smaller event than usual. We usually have between 1000 - 1800, but this event 300-500. We will be a team of maximum of 4 photographers.

This is a gracious opportunity to support the families and non-deployed on base where their Mothers, Fathers and Spouses are away sometimes for months at a time.

We are outdoors this event and most of our work will be candid. But we will look for an area we can shoot in a portrait scene. Good experience for seat of the pants urban photography.

NOTE: there are new requirements from the Pentagon for access to the base. Must have one of these if you do not have a BASE PASS. You also must be submitted for approval.

1. A current REAL ID driver’s license
2. A non-REAL ID driver’s license AND a valid US passport or passport card

I will be on the base by 9:00am
