Details
Ginger is widely considered a superfood with potent anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, and antiviral properties. Fresh ginger is a foundational ingredient in many Asian cuisine, utilized for its bright, sharp, and warming flavors.
We obtained some Bentong Ginger (stronger gingery flavor and less fibrous) and would be sharing two of our favorite comfort food with ginger as one of the key ingredient for May 2nd Meetup lunch.
- Yellow Rice Wine Chicken Soup
This healthy and nourishing dish is known for its health benefits and aromatic flavors – so full of herbal, winey, soupy, and gingery goodness that even the whole family can now enjoy. This time we’re cooking this dish using our home brew yellow rice wine together with Shaoxing rice wine and lots of slivers of toasted julienne ginger enhancing the pungent, aromatic flavour of the dish.
- Ginger Prawn Fried Rice
A fragrant dish features a generous amount of fresh ginger, cold leftover rice coated with beaten eggs, prawns and Chinese sausages stir-fried at high heat to achieve a light, savory flavor. Yummy.
- Penang-style Lor Bak
Pork pieces marinated with five-spice powder, before wrapping in bean curd skin and deep fried. These tasty umami bites are crispy outside and juicy and flavorful inside. Simply addictive!!
