Hey folks, I wanted to create a sober group without the formality of AA meetings. The socializing thing is still difficult as most of my friends/family drink and my entire adult life, for the most part, socializing has revolved around booze. I would love to meet other brave, strong sober people - we can swap stories and I do love to hear war stories. Or we don't have to talk about booze at all and can just enjoy being together, sober. I am based in Newport and would love to meet here, though depending on group members we can meet elsewhere in RI. Providence (my old stomping ground) would also be a great place to meet, but I am open for suggestions. Can't wait to hear from y'all!
