Anyone is welcome to join this new Sober & Social Book Club!

Our first selection is Culpability by Bruce Holsinger. "Set at a summer rental on the Chesapeake Bay, a riveting family drama about moral responsibility in the age of artificial intelligence, from the bestselling author of the “wise and addictive” (New York Times) The Gifted School."

It invites us to consider what it means to be accountable, for ourselves, our creations, in an era where the lines between human and machine are blurring.

### Kickoff Brunch Meetup — Songbird Café (November 16th)

A casual brunch to discuss Culpability as our first book selection and share initial impressions. Even if you haven’t started reading yet, come get the conversation started about moral responsibility in the age of AI and how these themes connect to conscious living, mindfulness, and sobriety/alcohol-free living.

You’ll have plenty of time to finish the book before our final discussion on January 10th at the Malletts Creek AADL Library.
Between now and then, we’ll meet regularly to reflect and discuss (no obligation to attend all meetings). I’ll provide optional discussion prompts, but feel free to come with your own insights.

### Initial Questions to Pique Curiosity

  • What does culpability mean to you, and how do we decide who (or what) is responsible when things go wrong?
  • What parallels can we draw between moral accountability and the journey of sobriety, recovery or living alcohol-free?
  • How do awareness and responsibility intersect in both technology and personal transformation?

Next Steps:
✔️ Grab a copy of Culpability (purchase or borrow from your local library)
✔️ RSVP for brunch at Songbird Café (11/16)
✔️ Mark your calendar for our final discussion at Malletts Creek AADL (1/10) (target finish date)
