WHY THIS GROUP MATTERS

While formal data on the gender breakdown of ADHD coaches is limited, broader industry research shows that coaching and helping professions are predominantly female, with women often outnumbering men by more than 2:1. At the same time, research on help-seeking behavior indicates that men are less likely to pursue traditional mental health support, yet often engage more readily with practical, action-oriented approaches such as coaching. Studies in related fields also suggest that some men prefer working with a same-gender provider, which can improve comfort and engagement.

Together, these patterns suggest that men with ADHD face both fewer male coaches and cultural barriers to seeking support—highlighting the value of greater male representation in ADHD coaching. As a professionally trained male ADHD coach, I offer a relatable, accessible approach grounded in lived experience and effective practice.
