OK, the three new D-line stations are FINALLY open and the Metro hash will be jumping on the D on May 30! And, based on recent “constructive participant feedback”, we’re going back to baSICKs this year! That means:
- Three train rides, including our first-ever mid-trip transfer (what could go wrong?)
- Five dive bar checks, plus a drink check (the infamous “Blood and Sand”) at the Tiki Ti!
- Plus, three more roadside BX’s, to keep the engines well-oiled and the costs in “check”, since all those added bar visits have already forced us to bump the pre-rego price to $29.69.
- As they say on the online dating sites, “No Games”! Just follow trail, then drink. Then ride the train, then drink. And on on and on on on.
- Costumes? Why the LAH3 Ride the D™ shirts, of course. If you fucked up and didn’t order one, eBay and Etsy have variations on Metro’s lame-ass, vanilla version. Or you can dress in purple, which is the color code on the maps for the D line (Yes, it’s officially known as “The Big, Long, Purple, Yogurt-Slinging D”!).
Cumming from afar? The start/finish will be a pretty quick stroll from the nearest new station, which is a direct shot from connections to other lines’ in DTLA.

For those unfamiliar with LAH3 or hashing in general. This is a special event, more akin to a pub crawl than our usual trails where we take the metro AND follow trails around the city. The cost is higher due to more stops and stops in bars etc, but it’s a fun way to introduce yourself to the group and meat a lot of us at one time.
