Sortition and Some Ambition (at Ambitious Ales Brewery)

What do you care about? Are you an activist? If not, is that because you think the current system of change is broken? Is that because you have too many obligations and sacrificing your career or the well being of your loved ones is more important than showing up to city hall for a tiny chance of maaaybe influencing an elected politician?

We think sortition can fix that.

(At this meetup, I'm considering trying a new approach: facilitated discussion. We'll break into groups of 3 or 4 and each person will be given a few minutes to talk about their experiences and view of democracy. Maybe we'll roll some dice. Then maybe we'll shuffle around. I don't know! We're experimenting.)
