ABOUT THIS HIKE: This hike will lead you into a peaceful world of waterfalls, swimming holes, tranquil pools, and shaded woodlands but does see heavy use on weekends.

This hike is an out and back 6 miles roundtrip hike, with about 745 ft. elevation gain. It is estimated to take about 4 hours, and is rated as intermediate/moderate.

You can learn more about the trail that we will be taking here: Check out this trail on AllTrails.

We will begin the hike at the entrance to St. Thomas Aquinas College. Follow the signs and please stay on the road. After 0.5 miles, we will begin the hike on the Santa Paula Canyon Trail. The trail will take us by Big Cone and Cross Camp. We will hike by many swimming holes and have great views into the gorge.

The Punch Bowls are a lot of fun, bring a pair of water shoes and prepare to get wet. Unfortunately the area now has a lot of graffiti and some trash left by irresponsible people. On our way out, it would be great if you could bring a plastic bag to help remove some trash.

CARPOOLING:
Carpooling is recommended for this hike, as it is about 2 hours north of Orange County. We will likely plan some sort of carpooling for the group prior to this event.

Alternatively, you can meet the group outside of the Thomas Aquinas College on the Ojai Santa Paula Rd (CA-150) at 8:45 AM. We will start up the trail at 9 AM sharp.

WHAT TO BRING:
Plenty of water (at least 2L), a snack, a hat/sunglasses, shoes with good tread (AKA hiking boots/shoes), and sunscreen.

FYI:
There is a lot of Poison Ivy, so please bring appropriate clothing. Also, an Adventure Pass is not required.
