Our March meetup will be hosted by the fine folks at Media Temple (https://mediatemple.net), at their new offices in the Howard Hughes center! Directions to the office have been updated.

Please note: RSVPs help our sponsors estimate how much food/beer to buy for us. If your plans change or you cannot attend, please RSVP "NO" so we can plan accordingly and so that everybody who can attend can get into the event!

Our first talk will be by Sep Dehpour, Principal Engineer at ChowNow:

Magic Method, on the wall, who, now, is the `fairest` one of all?

Magic methods are a very powerful feature of Python and can open a whole new door for you. However, with great power comes great responsibility. In this talk we explore magic method's capabilities by first designing new interfaces in a series of fun experiments. Secondly, we play with creating undeletable objects and learn about the mighty Garbage Collector in cPython and how a single magic method can overturn the fate of the object. Lastly, we create a lazy Redis client to illustrate a practical application of magic methods and learn about lazy loading.

Our second talk will be presented by Mamta Narang:

Cooking with Bio-Python

Usage of bio python/ python in Bio informatics. Introduction to biopython, where it's being used and scope.

Module of the Month: Krutik Shah will be presenting this month's Python module!

This month we have a special bonus 10-minute feature presentation! John Mitchell will be presenting Distributed Programming with Python

PARKING: Free parking will be provided at the Howard Hughes Promenade parking lot (across the street from the office). At the office someone from MediaTemple wearing a Media Temple t-shirt will direct you where to go. The entry cut-off time is 8pm.

Recruiters are not welcome unless they are with the sponsor of our event! Any other recruiters who show up at our meetup will be asked to leave.
