The generous folks at TeleSign (https://www.telesign.com) are hosting July's meetup and sponsoring both food and drinks! (Please note the new location of their office!)

Our first talk will be "Let’s bring types to python with MyPy," by Karim Amer, Software Developer:

Mypy is an experimental optional static type checker for Python that aims to combine the benefits of dynamic (or “duck”) typing and static typing. Mypy combines the expressive power and convenience of Python with a powerful type system and compile-time type checking. Mypy type checks standard Python programs; run them using any Python VM with basically no runtime overhead.

Second talk: "Smarter Software Design with Patterns" by John Mitchell @johntellsall

Software systems can be complex and mysterious. By using Design Patterns we have a standard terminology and toolset for simplifying and understanding our large codebases. John will present a bunch of examples in Python of how to make your software easier to understand and modify!

Please feel free to reach out via the contact page if you would like to present at future meetups!
