What we’re about

Tournaments will be rapid games. (These tournaments will be for people rated under 2000)

{tournaments are free, no entry fee}

{if there is enough interest in the future I can maybe have a tournament for players rated 2000 to 2300}

10 minutes plus 5 seconds incremental
(meaning an additional 5 seconds after every move)
{you can practice playing these time controls on both Lichess.org and chess.com}

10 players for tournament
(if there is not enough players it is just a social chess day, if there are to many players then 10 players will be picked randomly or first come, this will be decided in the moment)

Any additional players are welcome to play and socialize, since I will be keeping score I will socialize with others and even teach as well.

Even if you don’t know how to play or are an absolute beginner you are welcome to come socialize and maybe even get a lesson.

Prizes!!!
There will be prizes for top 3 players, 1st $15, 2nd $ 10 and 3rd $5 (to be paid out by either gift card, cash or Zelle payment)
Bottom 3 will get a chess lesson from me.

Top 3 players can come socialize and play for fun but can not play in the very next tournament, they will have to wait until the next following tournament to play again.

Once I have ten different players that came in top 3 we will have a champions tournament.

I will provide chess sets & clocks for tournament players.

But I do ask that if you can please bring a set (& clock if you have it) in case you don’t get to play in the tournament. Thank you.
